Body Surface Area (BSA) – is being used for calculations of medical doses and similar applications.
Body Mass Index (BMI) - is a simple index of weight-for-height that is commonly used to classify underweight, overweight and obesity in adults. BMI values are age-independent and the same for both sexes.
Lean Body Weight (LBW) in therapeutics is a person's body weight minus fat. LBW is being used for calculations of medical doses.
Ideal body weight - There are many formulas to calculate the Ideal body weight. The Devine formula is most popular. Originally it was created to calculate dosage of medications.
Body description - The International Classification of adult underweight, overweight and obesity states that Body Mass Index (BMI) between 25 and 29.9 is overweight, greater than or equal to 30 is obese. However due to very muscular body or in adolescents BMI can result in overestimation of fatness. This program uses classification of normal range, overweight and obese provided by Whitney and Rolfes, which better reflects actual body description.
